10 ways to participate in InnovaCamp No.10 – Checklist!
Posted by admin in 10 ways to participate, ICM, InnovaCamp Mediterrane@, Participants, Programme on May 21st, 2009
We are about to begin InnovaCamp, these last weeks we have been preparing all the details from CitiLab looking forward to these one & a half days of shared experiences and knowledge.
Taking part in a barcamp is something that each person experiences in their own way and we hope that everybody enjoys every moment. Here is a list of things to take into account for the benefit of everybody. It is our own interpretation of the norms of barcamp, adapted for the occasion:
1- Puntuality > There are a lot of people presenting in a short time, and we
have to keep to time or we will finish very late.
If you are presenting, check the time of the slot in the program . Make sure you are ready for your turn and pay attention to the time indicators which will tell you the time remaining. If you are going to use slides we
recommended that you bring a pendrive (much easier than changing computers). If you need your computer for specific software please bring it however.
2- Spaces > The barcamp coincides with other events in Citilab,
ensure you to go to the correct room (A). There is cafe on the ground floor, and other spaces to gather (you can also become a
citilaber for just 3 euros a year and enjoy the facilities when you want). If some session doesn’t interest you or
want to take a break, please leave at the changeover & not in the middle of a presentation.
3- Right to present > The program is now closed. Although there may be last-minute changes, if you haven’t already arranged to present we have organised a “Speakers Corner” where you can record a video which will be uploaded along with the other videos of the presentations and you will be able to embed in your blog etc. Ask one of the organisers.
4- Tags > #ICM09 is the tag if you are going to use Twitter, upload photos to Flickr or similar, write a post, Facebook, etc. Bring your laptop and chargers, there are plenty of power points and wifi (wifi:innovacamp, password: innovacamp) perfect for Twitter addicts like us!
Ah, 1 more thing > If you have seen the blog you will know that InnovaCamp
Mediterrane@ is a trilíngual event, we have been updating the
information but during the sessions everybody will present in the language of their choice. In the last rows of seats we will be doing a simultaneos translation. Volunteers accepted!

Aretha Franklin – Respect Live 1967
Uploaded by chilavert. – Watch more music videos, in HD!
As Aretha said – a little bit of respect:
respect the time everybody has spent on this project and their presentations, come early & make sure that the first speakers aren’t just talking to themselves
respect the starting times so that everyone can participate without stressing
respect the finish times for the same reason – if you want to continue the conversation there is plenty of space available in Citilab
respect that we are all here to participate as equals – we are all rock stars!

One of the most complicated things in organising this type of event is knowing how many people will be attending and being able to arrange everything so the event runs as smoothly as possible with all technical parts catered for. For this reason we are asking you to sign up as soon as possible if you are going to attend InnovaCamp. If you are going to present, we need to know your tech needs. If you want to present via video-conference etc we also need to plan for this.
INNOVACAMP MEDITERRANE@ IS FREE TO ATTEND – PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Click on the link above
It is also very important to know how many people will be requiring lunch – innovating is hungry & thirsty work! Here are the details:
Mediterranean lunch – a taste of innovation

Let’s face it – innovating is hard work and needs lots of stimulation and sustenance. So when we started planning InnovaCamp we looked around for an innovative caterer who could excite the senses with their culinary creations. And we were lucky to find Picoplato – a company that uses the Internet to publicise itself through the Picoplato webpage & blog. They understood our proposal immediately and Chef Marc Joli who has worked with Ferran Adri amongst many others, constructed this mouth-watering menu which reflects the cuisine of the region especially for InnovaCamp Mediterrane@.
If you want to taste this innovative interpretation of the flavours and scents of the countries around the Mediterranean sea on May 23rd, register here the lunch costs just €15
Aperitivo español:
Croquettes of roast meat
Secallones
“Montaditos” of tortilla de patata
Chapata with ibérico ham
“Cocktail InnovaCampMediterrane@” with alcohol: white wine, lime juice, drops of amareto and a twist of orange; without alcohol: red fruit tea, syrup of ginger, pineapple juice and morello cherry
Bufete del Mediterráneo
France: selection of fine cheeses
Greece: Greek salad
Turkey: lamb kebab
Morroco: cus-cus
Libya: crispy prawns
Italy: rissoto milaneta (saffron with parmesan)
Syria: stuffed courgettes
Israel: hummus
Egypt: baba ganoush
Algeria: sweets of honey and almonds
water, wine & soft drinks
10 ways to participate in InnovaCamp No.4 – get viral!

Pass it on…
We are all involved in groups & networks and know people who might be interested in InnovaCamp.
We want to examine innovation in the Mediterranean region – when people talk of innovation they invariably talk about the Scandanavian countries, the North of Europe, the US & Canada and Asia. But what about the South of Europe – what’s going on here?
Please contact all of those you think may be interested in your professional or social networks – together we probably have contacts all over the region. Pass it on…
